Jolna ("we", "our", "us") is a link-saving app that lets you save, organise, and read web content. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using Jolna you agree to the collection and use of information described in this policy. If you disagree, please stop using the service and delete your account.
Account information
When you create an account we collect your email address and, optionally, a display name. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
Saved links & content
We store the URLs you save, along with metadata we fetch automatically — page title, description, thumbnail, and domain. We also store tags, collection memberships, reading progress, and any notes you add.
Usage & analytics
We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymised event data (e.g. screens viewed, features used). This data does not contain your saved URLs or personal content. Analytics data is aggregated and used only to improve the app.
Device & technical data
We may automatically receive your device type, operating system version, app version, and error logs when the app crashes. This is used solely for debugging and stability improvements.
- To provide, maintain, and improve Jolna
- To sync your saved links and collections across your devices
- To authenticate your account and keep it secure
- To generate AI-powered summaries and insights from your saved content
- To send important service notifications (e.g. security alerts)
- To understand how features are used in aggregate, and make product decisions
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data to third parties.
Your data is stored using Supabase, hosted on AWS infrastructure in the EU (eu-west-1). All data in transit is encrypted via TLS. Data at rest is encrypted by the cloud provider.
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We rely on the following third-party services:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage. Privacy policy ↗
- Firebase (Google) — anonymised analytics. Privacy policy ↗
- Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In — optional OAuth authentication. We only receive your name and email from these providers.
Each third-party service is governed by their own privacy policy. We do not control their data practices.
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Export — export your saved links and collections at any time from the app (Profile → Export data)
- Correct — update your email or display name in the app
- Delete — permanently delete your account and all associated data from the app (Profile → Delete account). Deletion is irreversible.
- Object — opt out of analytics by disabling analytics in your device settings
To exercise any other rights, contact us at [email protected].
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days. Anonymised, aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely.
Jolna is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of Jolna after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
